For the third maintenance release of SAS^® 9.4 (TS1M3), the configuration of the SAS Micro Analytic Service REST API fails on the middle tier. When the configuration fails, the following error is generated:

When this problem occurs, the log file that is located in the SAS-configuration-directory\LevN\Logs\Configure\masintfc_buildWebapps:datetimestamp.log directory contains an error similar to the following:

Currently, there is no solution for this problem. To work around the problem, choose one of the following options:

Option 1

Important: Perform this workaround option before you install SAS Micro Analytic Service on the middle tier.

1. On the middle-tier machine, launch SAS^® Deployment Wizard.
2. When the wizard launches, select only the Install SAS Software option.
3. Install the software that is associated with the Middle Tier step for your plan file.
4. After the installation is complete, on the same middle-tier machine, create a folder named sasexe under the SASHOME\SASFoundation\9.4\core location, as shown in this example:
   
   C:\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.4\core\sasexe

The sasexe folder will be empty.

5. On the same middle-tier machine, launch SAS Deployment Wizard again.
6. Select only the Configure SAS Software option.
7. Configure the software that is associated with the Middle Tier step for your plan file.

Option 2

Important: Perform this workaround option after you receive the error that occurs during configuration of SAS Micro Analytic Service.

1. On the middle-tier machine where the configuration error appears, create a sasexe folder under the SASHOME\SASFoundation\9.4\core location, as shown in this example:
   
   C:\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.4\core\sasexe

   The sasexe folder will be empty.

2. Click Retry to continue the configuration.
